US Passport Regulations

All US passport photos will be taken according to the US Government guide line and
must pass all seven check list described in the Government book.


To obtain a US passport, you need two of 2 x 2 photos.
The photos must be white background, no shadows at all, neutral facial expression, head size from 1 to 1 3/8.

Make sure that these photos satisfy the Government specs, otherwise they will be rejected and sent back to you.
Please remember, after 9-11, all official ID photos are subject to strict rules.
Unless they are photographed by us, please check your photos again before submit, which will save your time and money.

US passport photo check list:
1) right size of the photo - 2 x 2 inches
2) right size of your head - 1 to 1 3/8 from top of hair to chin
3) background OK? - white back ( it it white enough, or pale enough?)
4) no shadows - shadow is one of the common rejection reasons for US immigration office.
We've seen many photos rejected because of the shadow.
3) too light, too dark?
4) your eyes are clearly visible - eye level must be between 1 1/8 to 1 3/4 from bottom of photo.
5) don't smile (at least not too much ) - US government says "Encourage subject to have a natural expression". So be it.
